Block Mounting

A cost-effective way of framing prints, notices, labour charts etc.

The print is glued, and then vacuum pressed onto a solid wooden board. This permanently fixes the print to the board and removes any creases. Supa Wood and chipboard are the most commonly used boards.

Once the print has been pressed onto the backing, we fit a black plastic edge strip around the sides. This protects the print and the wooden board from damage, it also ensures that the edges of the print never lift.

Block mounting is ideal when a clean, modern look is required at an affordable price.

We offer a block mounting service to the whole of Gauteng. We will block mount prints supplied by you, and should you require, we are also able to print your images in-house at unbeatable prices.

Materials Used.

All of our printing is done on Eco-Solvent large format printers, using genuine inks. We print on a brilliant white 220GSM photo satin paper.

This paper is much whiter than most papers currently in the industry and allows us to supply prints with incredible vibrance and contrast

The prints are pressed onto either 12mm Supawood or 12mm Chip Board, depending on availability using ph neutral glues.

The edging strip channel that is placed around the block mount is 8mm wide.

Unfortunately we currently only stock black edging. Custom colours can be ordered on very large runs.

All block mounts are supplied with a hanging clip on the back of the frame.
